The Don Richter Memorial Scholarship Fund is used to annually grant a single worthy recipient the Don Richter Scholarship Award.  The Scholarship is a memorial fund to honor the service of Alaskan geologist, Don Richter. 

Candidates must be doing graduate or undergraduate level geoscientific work on an Alaskan topic, preferably a topic relevant to the core interests of Don Richter: volcanology, igenous petrology, and south-central Alaska geology. 

Eligible candidates must submit applications to the AGS Scholarship Committee, who judge the candidates and the disbursement is approved by the AGS Board of Directors.
